Boring

I am bored. Every time there is a rumour that something cool is on the way, I know for sure that it will turn out to be quite accurate. Companies have been busy mastering the power of rumours for years.

Yeah, they are able to create some excitement and gain consumer insights and ideas. But, hey, what about the consumers? Let them design the product, not just talk about it before they have even seen it. Let us see what will happen.

Mis-selling

When I want to buy something, I go to the store and ask questions. Google is one of my best friends but talking to people in person is the best option available. Especially in the case of a product mini page, that doesn’t give enough information.

The thing is that salesmen in Bulgaria pretend to know everything. You may end up confused because their advices sometimes are worth nothing but forgetting about the product. If I hadn’t been convinced that I want that thing in my pocket, I could have left the store empty-handed. In fact, I did.

Who is winning? Nobody. Then I went back to all these product reviews on the web. I found several articles listing pros and cons. I watched a couple of videos on Youtube as well. Tomorrow I will go and get it, this time without asking for any help. However, not everyone is going to spend a couple of hours looking for such an easy answer to the question “to buy or not to buy”. I doubt even I would if I weren’t somewhat geeky.

New Year

Happy New Year!

I am sure that this one will bring us even more challenges – to our personal and professional lives, to the world. I hope that you are ready to take on them.

Good luck with your fight and see you around.

Cosy

I have been in Bulgaria for almost 5 days now. I was tired of all the writings and readings and was eager to be with my family and to meet my friends here.

On the day I was leaving Lund I decided that I will not update my status on Facebook and Twitter. I tried… I thought that I will be able to resist and keep the lid of my laptop closed too.

When I wake up, I reach for “Atlas shrugged”. I read 20 or 30 pages and then, suddenly, there is this idea worth exploring. Talking to people makes me think. Thinking makes me do. Now I have to do it… And I have to finish it during the next few days.

I am at home, at least. It is cosy, it is warm and food is so delicious!

It’s all about fun

Introducing the all-new 2010 GTI. In an iPhone game. How fun could that be? And what about viral? Social? Well… I’d say that it is absolutely fun. One track, one car in six different colors, awesome steering and game play…

Introducing the all new 2010 GTI

Just great

Yes?

Golf GTI isn’t a car that everybody needs, but it’s a product whose target group is quite aware of. There could still be more potential buyers (20-30 years old), though, holding an iPhone or an iPod Touch in their hands and just having a break after a five lap race. Just like me. Most of them may probably not feel like spending €27 000 on a turbocharged car. However, it’s just another way to sell the right product to the right consumers.

The initial game, Firemint Real Racing, has been downloaded more than just a couple of million times since its launch on the App Store. Share a video of you racing on Youtube, post your lap results on Twitter or Facebook…

We’ll see how it will work for Volkswagen.
